If you're not a lobbyist or a special interest, it's difficult and time consuming to contact your representatives in Washington. To make things worse, many representatives have email systems that block messages from people outside their districts—even though those representatives make decisions that affect us all.

One Click Politics™ allows YOU to communicate with ALL of Congress with the click of a button. One Click Politics makes sure your message gets through to whomever YOU want, WHENEVER you want. It's like being able to cast a vote on any issue you care about.

The idea for One Click Politics was developed during the drafting of the 2009 economic stimulus legislation. Under the influence of special interests, Congress was making major decisions that would affect us all but it was next to impossible for the average person to express an opinion to all the relevant players. We wanted a tool to help change that.

Unfortunately, many Congressmen wouldn't even accept online messages from people outside their districts, even though these same Congressman serve on committees that affect us all.

So we decided to create a tool that enables average people to be heard because we want you to be your own special interest!

There are some websites that just sell tools for pseudo “grass roots” campaigns. Other sites let users write to just their own representatives. One Click Politics is the first web site that enables anyone to contact everyone in Congress at once and provides powerful tools to create real grass roots movements.

One Click Politics is non-partisan! We want to help enhance representation in Washington for everyone. Our users' views fall all along the political spectrum and we encourage that.

There are already many, many sites which enable highly partisan users to attack one another. One Click Politics is intended to be a forum for people who are tired of endless emotional and partisan exchanges.

Profanity will automatically be screened out and we ask for users to let us know about hate speech and personal attacks. We hope to create a community where individual ideas are debated and partisan attacks are rare. Aside from these exceptions, One Click Politics allows any American to send messages on any topic.

Our vision is to provide a tool that will make all levels of government more accessible to average Americans. While the site is focused on Congress for now, you can expect more elected officials to be accessible through the site before too long!

Currently messages are manually selected by us based on current events and perceived level of interest. Over time the message display process will be automated and you will see trending messages, random messages, and some messages that may be slightly tailored to your interests.

Organizations with a specific message for Congress can set up a sponsored message. Each message campaign is pay-for-performance so the sponsor is charged a very small fee only when a user sends the sponsor's message, otherwise the sponsor pays nothing.

Sponsored messages will be clearly marked as such so that users know that they are sending out a message being promoted by a specific organization. Sponsors may also ask to use senders’ personal information for the sponsor’s internal lists. This will always be clearly indicated and will only occur if you opt-in or don’t opt-out.

Nothing! The elected officials you choose to send messages to will be able to see your name and address of course. However, One Click Politics doesn't do anything with your personally identifiable information. We do compile and analyze data based on zip code and other non-personal information.

No! Our goal is to make it easier for you to have an impact, not to clog Congressional inboxes!!

We continuously monitor the volume of messages sent and when it exceeds a certain threshold we begin batching messages so a given Congressman will receive a single message along with information showing how many times it was sent to him or her and by whom. However, when sending to your own Representative or Senators, your message will be immediately processed individually.

In addition to batching, we also have controls in place to prevent a single individual from sending the same message multiple times. Finally, we screen out messages sent from outside the U.S. unless it is clearly coming from a U.S. citizen, e.g., deployed military personnel.

So send as often as you want and let us worry about spamming!
