In September of 2014 the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) released its review of LEED v4 that found LEED is aligned, better than ever, with the federal sustainability requirements and reaffirms that LEED is a consensus standard. GSA responded with a request for additional information (RFI) seeking input on how federal agencies can best utilize LEED and to guide participation in future rating systems. This is a new opportunity to comment on the concepts and conclusions developed by the major Federal real estate portfolio holders, including the credits or points used in Federal projects. GSA will accept formal comments until March 23rd. USGBC will offer its own comments. But, we urge you to take action and reassert the benefits of GSA continuing to use LEED. Let them know they’re on the right track and that LEED is a proven way to save taxpayer dollars, while meeting federal sustainability goals.
