OPPOSE CA SB 456
I am a supporter of Firearms Policy Coalition and I write today to Oppose SB 456. This bill seeks to ban any firearms accessory that can "increase the rate of fire" for a firearm in an attempt to ban "bump-stocks" , but in doing so it bans virtually every aftermarket part for firearms. This is an incredibly flawed and vague measure that seeks to regulate "rate of fire," something that the ban on fully automatic weapons doesn't even attempt to do. This bill could easily ban virtually any device, part, or accessory -- including OEM parts that have been refined or machined by a licensed gunsmith -- that regulators or law enforcement believes could, as the measure states, "increase the rate of fire." This measure, as written, would put virtually every gun owner with an aftermarket trigger part or other action upgrade in criminal jeopardy. Please OPPOSE this bill.
