Fix this error for passenger safety and comfort
I am writing to express my dismay concerning the use of sexually exploitive material on your flights. It has come to the attention of the National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE) that on December 10th a man began watching hardcore pornographic material on a personal electronic device aboard a commercial Delta flight. Video has surfaced of an encounter where a female passenger asked him to turn it off, but the Delta crew did nothing. This man affronted every other passengers’ right to avoid pornographic material by streaming it with reckless disregard so that the woman sitting next to him was virtually trapped in a confined space with no escape from these images. Certainly, this ought to be considered a form of sexual harassment and creating a hostile public space! Then too, think about the children who may be walking down the aisle to the bathroom and see this! In 2012, after a similar circumstance, Delta told the National Center on Sexual Exploitation that “Delta does not condone the viewing of inappropriate material on any of our flights.” Considering the failure of the Delta crew to intervene on December 10th 2017, I implore you to 1) reaffirm that this is your policy 2) implement a brand-wide training for all of your flight crews on how to intervene if a passenger begins watching pornography on a plane.
